Something not unexpected
Posted by: moedee on: January 2, 2007
Well, since it’s the beginning of a new year, it seems a physical impossibility to continue on without at least some review of the last year so here goes:
- I completed my master’s degree
- I did not complete my thesis
- I worked three part time jobs during my last term at school
- I had to pay for an additional credit in the summer in order to get my degree
- I went back to NC for a visit and it was really good
- I had at least two moderate periods (first time in two and a half years)
- My pap went from high grade abnormal to normal
- I began my full time job (the first permanent position other than my grad assistantship in five years)
- I officially celebrated two years of celibacy (no, I’m not joking)
- I broke up with a good friend
- I made up with that good friend
- I broke up with another good friend (we haven’t made up yet and may not)
- I learned how to knit
- I quit riding for 10 months
- I found a new barn and began riding again
- I did two salsa performance classes and upped my dancing game
- My ex-housemate’s boyfriend moved in and my living situation became icky
- I survived the ickiness and moved out (at the expense of my relationship with my ex-housemate)
- I found a great new place and my landlady let me paint!
- I went through all my boxes and unpacked everything that can be unpacked
- I sewed my first curtains ever
- I made some wonderful male friends who I value highly
- I made a number of new friends
- I was asked to be on the board of a wonderful nonprofit organization and accepted
- I continued to work to establish a farm advocacy nonprofit
- I maintained financial stability
- I realized I have to stop using my credit card
- I started reading fiction again
- I quit writing almost entirely after I finished school
- I began doing an intense amount of program and curriculum development at my new job
- I got a bike (the guy who moved out of my new place gave it to me when he left)
- I finally cleaned up my computer (the dust bunnies were enormous)
- I discovered Putumayo and Six Degrees
- I started learning how to make/produce music
- I bought Christmas gifts for the first time in two years
- I got a little crush and managed to keep a good relationship in spite of the crush
- For the first time, someone actually walked me to my car and asked for my number while I was out dancing
- My bff and I got even closer
- Someone I thought was a bff removed themselves from my life (with no explanation)
- I continue to find extremely great and cute clothes and reasonable prices
- I bought my first-ever pair of red 2″ pumps
- My niece had her fourth birthday (which I missed)
- I learned blues dancing and a little east coast swing
Yeah – I think that’s enough for now.
